I am feeling a little blue! Our baby Nick will graduate on May 15th from high school and then he will begin a new journey, college. He will head to southCentral Kansas and attend college there. He is our runner and as the track and field season starts to wind down I am feeling very vulnerable. I want him to be independent and yet I want him close to us. I wanted to share his blue graduation photos with you. My hubby's former co worker Bernard owns his own photography business called www.1focustree.com/. He does really beautiful work!

“Success”
Inaccurately attributed to Ralph Waldo Emerson
Inaccurately attributed to Ralph Waldo Emerson
To laugh often and much;
To win the respect of intelligent people
and the affection of children;
To earn the appreciation of honest critics
and endure the betrayal of false friends;
To appreciate beauty, to find the best in others;
To leave the world a bit better, whether by a healthy child,
a garden patch or a redeemed social condition;
To know even one life has breathed easier because you have lived.
This is to have succeeded.

“What Constitutes Success”
By Bessie Stanley (1905)
By Bessie Stanley (1905)
He has achieved success who has lived well,
laughed often and loved much;
who has gained the respect of intelligent men
and the love of little children;
who has filled his niche and accomplished his task;
who has left the world better than he found it,
whether by an improved poppy, a perfect poem, or a rescued soul;
who has never lacked appreciation of earth’s beauty
or failed to express it;
who has always looked for the best in others
and given them the best he had;
whose life was an inspiration;
whose memory a benediction.

Nice and blue!
Great shots! It's hard to let our kids go but we have to or else they'll never learn to stand up on their own.
My entries are here and here.
Lovely blue. God bless your son, as his new life journey begins.
awww! what a cute kid he is :-) Wish him well for his college :-) They grow up so fast :-) Dropping by from BM.

I know how you feel, Anne. Both of mine children left home to go to college. They got subsequently married and had children. Life goes on. It's wonderful and not-so-wonderful.
Happy Blue Monday!
Gorgeous photos of your son!!!

Blessins and well wishes to you and your son!
Really nice grad. photos. We've talked before about him choosing a school in Kansas, which one did he choose? He will do so great.
Ann
I hear your blueness! Mine graduated last May and we have him still at home this year for Community College but, He graduated the same time my baby left kindergarten and it made me really sad with these two milestones. It is very bittersweet.:)

Those are some great pictures of your son Anne! I love the one with him on the rock looking at the lake. I can't imagine my kids going off to college that far away. My neighbor's daughter is going to a school in Georgia. I'm trying to promote local schools to my daughter who is in the 8th grade! lol There are 3 colleges close by. That's what I did and lived at home.
I wish I had some words of wisdom to share with you to help you to prepare for this life changing event but I don't.
Hugs,
Angela
Oh my sweetie, he's the most handsome 'blue' I've run across today!!! Don't be blue girl. They come back home and bring friends, girlfriends, wives and grandchildren.
It'll be alright!!!
Beautiful words!
God bless ya and have yourself a glorious week!!! :o)
Looks like biue is a very good color for him. I know how you feel I still miss my baby boy and he is all grown up and the Daddy to five little ones.
Dottie
I have sure been there, too. It's sad, but still a glad day.
I am blown away that you got that tall lanky cutie pie to pose for you. Super pictures and I feel your thoughts. Both my sons live far away and I still get teary eyed when I think of them....often. :) Anne thank you for your kind comment. You made my day. Hope yours is wonderful too. xo
Wow, that seems already so long ago!
Nick is a handsome dude. I wish him well in all of his future endeavors - and I'm sure he'll do well in college!!
