GOD VERSES A MATERIAL WORLD!

Hi and welcome to my post for Spiritual Sunday!  I am very late today. I have so many things going on and my housework is slipping and my house is a mess and I am in need of a personal maid! HeeHee! But I want to share a simple verse today that packs a wallop of a punch! It is:
Set your mind on things above, not on things of this earth. Colossians 3:2
I love my bloggy friends!  But I know I have lost a few friends because I suppose no one is suppose to express their truly feelings here. I can't do that! I love the Lord and each day I struggle because I feel like I am not a good example of a Christian and than something happens in my life and I know the Lord is listening and He does care for me.

I love the giveaways here! I see so much creative talent and so many awesome people that I wish I could win everything I comment on but life does not work that way and I learned long ago in parochial school that we have to share! So even though I love my cool winnings I will never covet them. When the hubby and I were first married and life threw curve balls at us we lost our first home and a nice car we owned. We lost our car and home because of circumstances not because we had a good time and left a pile of bills! Life happened to us and we lost jobs and health and things happen. It was then that I learned not to covet anything because it can be snatched from your grasp quicker then you can blink! So today I had to speak my mind.

I have a very sweet and dear friend here in blogland. She is awesome and she does not participate in giveaways because she likes the simplistic lifestyle. I admire her. I like the simple things in life. I have found more comfort in them then things. As I look back on my life, it has been a simple one. Yet we have always supported each other and stuck together through good times and bad. So I need to say I love winning but I love knowing all of you more and I have a silly sense of humor and I sometime say silly things. I just want to set that record straight!

I know many people who have many material things. Yet they have no joy in their lives. They are constantly worried about something else. I love my dolls but if I had to sell them to eat and feed the phamily I would turn my back on them in a moment!

I just want to remind everyone today to remember the truly important stuff and don't get too involved in the material aspect of life!

Please stop by here and thank Charlotte and Ginger for pulling this post together each week with such grace and kindness. I enjoy knowing each one of you and I hope you will continue to join me here and stop by for some friendship and fun!

Today my prayer list includes Lois, Randy, Bea, Mike, Clayton, Gabe, Lance, Toby, Nick. Remember to pray for our military personnel all over  this great big world! Pray for each other and pray for myself and my phamily too. I do appreciate it.

Happy Labor Day!

POTPOURRI

I am getting ready to head out the door. Nick did not run yesterday because the coach was saving his top five runners since they are running on a brand new course today, the course they will use for the state competition later in October.
I ask for prayer for Nick today. This morning the Lord put this verse on my heart:
"Let nothing be done through selfish ambition or conceit, but in lowliness of mind let each esteem others better than himself." Philippians 2:3
Remember to check out my Pink Saturday post and the several giveaways I have going on. Just check my right side bar and I have my posts listed there so you can easily click on the one you need.

Alan Jackson - Hard Hat And A Hammer

I am posting my Labor Day posts early. This is a beautiful song dedicated to all the hard working men and women in the U.S.A. God Bless Alan Jackson!

More Postcard Fun!

Yesterday I received a special postcard. My co workers parents sent me a beautiful card of the Matterhorn in Switzerland. Since they are Japanese they wrote the card in their language and Koko interpreted for me. But at the end her parents signed Best Regards in English with their signatures. I was so tickled. Then I received a sweet Missouri card for Kim at the Patch and a Kentucky card from Linda at A La Carte. My BIL who is trying to move to back to Alaska sent me a postcard a week from Alaska. I think Alaska is going to beat California and Texas now! Sweet Beryl in Alabama noticed one of my favorite books is "To Kill A Mockingbird" so she is going to try to send a card or two from the museum courthouse. Harper Lee's hometown is 20 minutes from Beryl. My friend Lyn has a bunch of postcards for me and I have been trying to get together with her. Perhaps once my sinus crude goes far away from me I can sit down and chat with her over lunch and collect my postcards. She has some very generous friends. Thanks for everyone who is so generous with their time and cards. I do appreciate all of you. Now let's get busy and find New Hampshire, Kansas, Montana and Illinois along with Idaho! These postcard images are courtesy of the internet.

I have added some goodies to my Colorado giveaway box! C'mon. Someone out there wants to win! I will be showing off my pretty collection soon so let's wind this giveaway/exchange down before the first frost!

Thank you again to every single person who contributed a card or two! You are entered in giveaway and some one has to win!

INDIGO COLORS

I am glad to welcome you to tonight's Indigo post for Rainbow Summer School, an edition to Mrs. Matlock's Alphabe Thursday! I was at a loss for what to do and decided to show you some internet images of the color indigo so here goes:
My sinus infection has turned into a cold in my shoulder and left side. I am truly miserable so my creative genius is not working tonight. I think I need some ultra sound treatments so I will see my chiropractor next Wedesday. Dr. Freuden has been a real gem for my hubby and I for the past 27 years! He was the only doctor that trusted my instincts and sent me to other medical doctors when I was suffering pre shunt 26 years ago! He is a classic guy and really gives special care to his patients. I had hoped to see him this Friday as I am off but he is booked solid until late afternoon and Nick has a cross country meet so I can not miss that! I will see the good doctor a week from today. Wish me well!

Now hop over to Mrs. Matlock's at http://jennymatlock.blogspot.com/ and then check out all the other Indigo posts today.
