Feline Friday and More Fhun

Like kids, felines are the same when it comes to playing with toys...nah...gimme da box!
Visit Feline Friday. This poor feline was put together piece by piece by piece. DO you know the Johnny Cash song "One Piece At A Time"?

"One Piece At A Time"

Well, I left Kentucky back in '49
An' went to Detroit workin' on a 'sembly line
The first year they had me puttin' wheels on cadillacs

Every day I'd watch them beauties roll by
And sometimes I'd hang my head and cry
'Cause I always wanted me one that was long and black.

One day I devised myself a plan
That should be the envy of most any man
I'd sneak it out of there in a lunchbox in my hand
Now gettin' caught meant gettin' fired
But I figured I'd have it all by the time I retired
I'd have me a car worth at least a hundred grand.

[CHORUS]
I'd get it one piece at a time
And it wouldn't cost me a dime
You'll know it's me when I come through your town
I'm gonna ride around in style
I'm gonna drive everybody wild
'Cause I'll have the only one there is a round.

So the very next day when I punched in
With my big lunchbox and with help from my friends
I left that day with a lunch box full of gears
Now, I never considered myself a thief
GM wouldn't miss just one little piece
Especially if I strung it out over several years.

The first day I got me a fuel pump
And the next day I got me an engine and a trunk
Then I got me a transmission and all of the chrome
The little things I could get in my big lunchbox
Like nuts, an' bolts, and all four shocks
But the big stuff we snuck out in my buddy's mobile home.

Now, up to now my plan went all right
'Til we tried to put it all together one night
And that's when we noticed that something was definitely wrong.

The transmission was a '53
And the motor turned out to be a '73
And when we tried to put in the bolts all the holes were gone.

So we drilled it out so that it would fit
And with a little bit of help with an A-daptor kit
We had that engine runnin' just like a song
Now the headlight' was another sight
We had two on the left and one on the right
But when we pulled out the switch all three of 'em come on.

The back end looked kinda funny too
But we put it together and when we got thru
Well, that's when we noticed that we only had one tail-fin
About that time my wife walked out
And I could see in her eyes that she had her doubts
But she opened the door and said "Honey, take me for a spin."

So we drove up town just to get the tags
And I headed her right on down main drag
I could hear everybody laughin' for blocks around
But up there at the court house they didn't laugh
'Cause to type it up it took the whole staff
And when they got through the title weighed sixty pounds.

[CHORUS]
I got it one piece at a time
And it didn't cost me a dime
You'll know it's me when I come through your town
I'm gonna ride around in style
I'm gonna drive everybody wild
'Cause I'll have the only one there is around.

[Spoken] Ugh! Yow, RED RYDER
This is the COTTON MOUTH
In the PSYCHO-BILLY CADILLAC Come on

Huh, This is the COTTON MOUTH
And negatory on the cost of this mow-chine there RED RYDER
You might say I went right up to the factory
And picked it up, it's cheaper that way
Ugh!, what model is it?

This girl is so darn pretty. Miss Jaslin has an August birthday too so I am wishing her much happiness during the balance of 2020 and hoping all her dreams come true. This was her birthday a few years ago and I loved her holding up her "PINK" shirt. She is a perfect fit for Pink Saturday. I Hope you visit and share any pink you think is perfectly grand to share.

1. I feel like running away sometime. To a quiet place where only kindness rules.

2. I wish I could exchange hate for kindness.

3. It's time for me to dream about cooler weather, golden leaves crunching under my feet, boots and sweaters. I am officially done with the summer heat.

4. Carrying a nerf bat and beating the mean out of people filled with hate is really tempting these days. (trust me, years ago, I Posed a similar question to a
shrink years ago. He said everyone had healthy fantasies like this. Acting it out, is where you get into serious trouble. But nerf bats aren't very dangerous! HeeHeeHee

"May God help you to fling yourself against the Rock, Jesus Christ, in utter faith, in a total abandonment of yourself, leaving behind your preconceived notions of what God is suppose to do for you and remembering that God never does anything to you that isn't for you."  Elisabeth Elliot, Stories of Jesus, cassette

I know my post is quite lengthy but today I had to run a few errands. I have not driven since October when my little car conked out. Since we have the Jeep I drove the Kia to Good Times to buy breakfast burritos for Rebekah and Nick and myself. I also stopped by the Dollar Tree to grab a few odds and ends for this last minute birthday party Nick had planned. It was already getting very hot (85) and I was not going to let that make me a grumpy Gus. On the way home, I dropped a card in the outgoing mail at the drive up mail boxes. From there, I took the back roads home again. I saw a couple wearing their masks, walking along, I smiled the biggest smile I could muster. They both waved and it made me smile. Then I came across a young man heading out to school. I Know because he had a backpack and was carrying some other things. I smiled, he smiled and we both waved. A little kindness goes a long way. Not only to the recipient but to the giver as well.

Sorry about the change in print and color background. I wanted to share the Johnny Cash lyrics to the song "One Piece At A Time" and it was quite lengthy so I cut and pasted it. I am no techie nerd, and that is a fact! Have a wonderful weekend.

Love the kitties and yes they do love their boxes.

I don't think I've ever heard that song before. Fun.

I love that pink shirt. Pink is my favorite color.

Yes waving and smiles go a very long way these days.

Thank you for joining the Feline Friday Blog Hop.

Have a blessed weekend, Anne. Big hug. ♥

That second kitty is sure something! We heard that Johnny Cash song on the oldies C/W station just last week; I can never remember all the words but that doesn't stop me from singing along. (LOL)

Cute kitty memes, the first one looks a lot like my Brody. Thank you for participating in the fill-ins, great answers. I agree about the nerf bat :) Jaslin is beautiful. I remember when my niece always wanted Victoria Secret Pink clothes. Now that she has to pay for her own clothes, she doesn't mind Walmart :) Have a nice weekend. XO

Housecats can have some amazing color combinations.

Loved the song lyrics. Sweetie's father who raised him was the Quartermaster for all of the US North Africa campaign during the war, and he actually did send home an entire Willis Jeep in boxes, one part at a time. His buddy back home who was a mechanic with a problem that kept him from being drafted received the parts, and they put it back together when he came home.

He drove that Jeep for years, and when they left Biloxi, he sold it to the city. The city put a cover over it built to look like a train engine, hooked a bunch of passenger carts to it, like you see the old trains that used to be at fairs and such, and used it to give the train tour ride to people for many years.

That was a fun song. I just love that "I want the box" picture of kitty. Human children and animal children all love boxes and containers. Amazing. You have a super day, hugs, Edna B.
