Pink Saturday

I have been dreaming about having a tea party for a long time. I have to take some photos of a cute tea cup and plate three tier server my niece Holly made for me. It is not pink but it is very sweet. I have a beautiful tea party hat as well as tea hats for my daughters. So we need to have a tea party.

People talk about going to high tea and having tea parties with phamily and friends so I am really excited to plan one. After the dust settles from graduation I can set my sights on tea tyme!

I thought you might like my google images that I am sharing with pretty pink tea cups and saucers:
Pink polka dots with matching tea pot! So sweet!
Do you prefer this cute pink and purple rose splashed tea cup and saucer?

I hope you will thank Beverly for her generous heart and hosting our Pink Saturdays each week. We will celebrate a birthday next weekend. So stop by and give her your support. Then visit a pinkie or two or more!

Now I am off to bed with my cup of steaming Sleepy Time Tea!.

Sweet Dreams!

If you are cold, tea will warm you.  If you are too heated, it will cool you.  If you are depressed, it will cheer you.  If you are excited, it will calm you.  ~Gladstone, 1865

Come make a stop at Marydon's and visit Love is.... This is my sweet share today. It is always nice to be loved and also nice to have quiet time with your sweetheart! I am off to watch the eclipse of the sun.

ZAZZY

Z is a tough letter to write about but here I go! We had a zazzy week! Zazzy is a cross between zany, piazz and snazzy! LOL! It is something that is too great to confined to one word!  Also means something shiny and flashy! Jeremy graduated from  college on Mother's Day! Nick graduated on Tuesday the 15th! Whew! We were busy and zany. Zipping about to get everything done! We will zip through the weekend where the two of them will have their friends over for a barbeque. Wish you were all here. You could come over and we could visit while I get zany getting everything done!
Here is a zinger for you! I am going to permanently lose two toenails! Ouch! But I trust my doctor and my left foot is killing me and with Nick heading off to college ,we are  going to be hitting the ground running to catch up with some of his races! No pretty pedicures for me! :(
So enjoy a few phamily photos I zipped through!  Then visit Ms. Jenny and all the Alphabe Thursday participates!  I can usually get zazzy and visit many during the week.

Love is....pampering/The Phamily/Happy Day!

I felt like I was pampered today! Jeremy graduated from college with a double degree along with 1,879 other students! It was chilly and overcast but the day went off perfectly.
Please stop by Marydon's and visit with the Love is...crowd. I wish you would come join us.

Part of us at graduation!
Mi Familia at Casa Bonita! Oh My Goodness! We have not gone there in years, since the kids were small, so it was super fun! We are all here minus my SIL who had to work! :(
Jeremy and his friends!
Best mother's day celebration ever! Now to get Nick graduated on Tuesday the 15th and get him busy for his new adventure: C O L L E G E !

Jeremy wore a navy blue cap and gown and his after graduation shirt is blue! , Colton has a navy blue "College" t shirt, my hubby has on blue jeans . I could not wear my pretty blue Spring time dress. It was just too cold! I would have turned blue!

FORGET-ME-NOT

Welcome to my Mothers Day Pink Saturday. Please visit Beverly and thank her for graciously hosting this each week. She is a real doll for keeping this up and running! Happy Mother's Day to all of you!

My Mother's Day will be good because our oldest son Jeremy will graduate from college! We will all be front and center at nine o'clock in the morning Sunday the 13th to watch him receive a double degree in business journalism and history. Two days later Nick will graduate from high school and embark on his new journey, college in Kansas. I am a proud mom and happy to see my sons move into the next phase of their lives.

I know you will remember Shannon's story. The little California four year old who passed away from Brain cancer in March this year. We all got together and some very talented folks made quilted squares to create a quilt for Shannon. She lost the battle before the quilt was finished but her family accepted the quilt as a remembrance to her! Many folks are receiving thank you letters from the family and in their grief and sadness they stopped to thank each person involved. They included a packet of forget-me-not seeds and asked that we plant them and remember Shannon. I know I will never forget Shannon. I am going to plant those seeds and I am sharing an image of forget-me-nots here today.
e
Did you know that forget-me-nots are primarily bright blue in color but occasionally they bloom in pink and white? Since medievial times this pretty flower has been a symbol of enduring love despite absence or separation. There is even a song, written by Patrice Rushen entitled "Forget Me Not"

I wanted to share Shannon with you today. While we celebrate Mother's Day this weekend let us remember Shannon's mom Saeko who will be missing her little girl. Despite their grief, this wonderful family chose to share their daughter with us and I  will  always be grateful.

"Y" is for Y Songs

I had lots of grand ideas about the letter Y! I thought Yikes, Youth, Yellow, Yes, Yogi Bear, Yellowstone, Yosemite, yeah, I had them all then I decided to share some songs that start with the letter Y. Like "Yellow Submarine", written by John Lennon and Paul McCartney. Written during a period when the Beatles were experimenting with drugs and involved in transcendental mediation. Here it is:
There is Y.M.C.A. written by Henri Belolo/Jacques Morali/Victor Willis. It is one of those anthem songs and people often do a dance interpretation of it during wedding receptions! Performed by the Village People. The first video was fine and than started to play new year's eve tunes! So try the second YMCA video!
"You Ain't Seen Nothing Yet" by Bachman Turner Overdrive. This song was popular when I was in high school and college!
If you can't view these here hop over to you tube and you can watch them there.

I love music so I am always having fun watching and listening to videos and music in general! I love all types and hope you enjoyed this today. Please visit Ms. Jenny and all of us with Alphabe Thursday.

Love is...

I love this sweet little Love is...

I love it because my Sweets and I have been putting together a slide show with music for Nick and also a book of his athletic accomplishments for graduation. This hit home for us. We are wading in photos. We have plastic tubes of photos all over the house!  Best memories are shared with the ones you love! Now visit Marydon. She is always sharing a fun Love is...too.

It is hard to get a good shot of my nails but I had Helen paint my shorter nails royal blue (Nick's school colors royal blue and white) and added black crackle polish over them to make them look like they are crackled. It is very pretty and I thought it would be a good start for Blue Monday. So visit Sally and thank her for being such a terrific hostess.
Now these track and field Mom and Dad shirts are actually royal blue too. We bought them for Nick's college meets, Why my camera is making everything look navy instead of royal blue is beyond me! Sigh!
Keep Nick and his team mates in your prayers as they participate in their final track meet Wednesday. Nick has not been able to break his previous best time so  the meet will be bittersweet. He probably will not be invited to participate in the state championship meet but he worked very hard and he has college in his new horizon so all in all we are all quite happen. We are proud that he worked so hard and did so well during his high school years. We are happy he is attending college with a scholarship and we look forward to him meeting new friends and continuing this journey we call life.
Nick on Saturday May 5th. It was 91 degrees and he did run well. See his royal blue uniform shirt? He also has the two colored running shoes, one lime green, one aqua blue. His time for the 3200k (2 mile) was 10:08!

I had to share Maxine with you today! LOL! She is truthful for sure! The funniest mom story I had heard lately goes like this "I told my kids the ice cream man that drives his truck through the neighborhood only turns on the music when he is out of ice cream." LOL! Smart mom!
Someone told Betty White, "Why don't you get a Face Book page and reconnected with old friends. Betty replied" At my age I'd have better luck with contacting my old friends with a Ouija board!"

Have a  terrific week.

Pink Derby Day Post

Do you like the pretty pink flowers at Churchill Downs? I have had such a love for the Kentucky Derby since I was a young child that I thoroughly enjoy doing a Pink Saturday post about it! I hope you will visit Beverly and thank her for her hard work to keep all of us on task each week. Thank you Beverly!
I can don my pink Derby shirt and enjoy the race.
Although my derby hat is actually blue I do love this pink one!
Did you place a bet? Are you nervous? Did you, sell the farm, so to speak? I am not a gambler by nature but this The Oaks Lily drink looks refreshing. It contains an ounce of vodka, an ounce of sweet and sour , an ounce of cranberry juice and a splash of triple sec.
Perhaps a cool, tall glass of pink lemonade will refresh you instead.
Did you win? If so hurry over to your ride:
A perfectly pink Hummer limo!

and here is your winner for 2012 ....I'll Have Another!
