I am joining Tuesday 4 today. I have missed so many great memes and want to get back into these blog hops. These are in memory of Toni Taddeo. May her memory live forever.
1. What Makes A House A Home?
My house is a very nice house because of the people who live in it and make it a home. This is a street view of our home. I am sure some realtor wanting to buy our house took this photo in the winter. I think Love is the key to having a house become a home.We all pitch in and do things and try so hard to keep it up. There are tons of things we would like to improve but since the roof is newer and the furnace, water heater and a/c/ are all in great order we are tremendously grateful. Your own home offers you better security. It gives you a better peace of mind and good neighbors, they always help. We wtach out for others.
Example: When my broke Kia down down Carleen up the street said I can give you a ride. Where do you need to go? She and I are each others sounding boards about lots of things we do not discuss in general. She is the person who remebered Grandparents Day this weekend and sent me a GIF. She sends me messages about all the holidays ans I love her kind heart.
I think home is where I always prefer to be because I feel comfy here.
2. How do you keep your house neat tidy and clean? Do you find it difficult?
It is a full time job. As I grow older I find it harder to do many chores I use to breeze through. But my husband is a tremendous help. Neither of us are as quick as we once were. I would have someone clean my house weekly if I could. That way I could keep up on laundry and projects we never seem to have time to get to. The dogs leave their hair everywhere and the cat is messy with his scratching pad. So the vacumn gets a workout. It seems we need to run it 24/7 to keep up.
3. Are plants important in your home..or collections or wall art? Is there a theme you like to create?
I started to buy succulents. They are tiny and they seem to be happy in window sills. I do want more live plants because they get rid of bad air indoors. I love phamily photos and am looking into a different type of frame to add to a wall. They frames would be smaller so I could share more. We had black and white canvases in the living room with our gray walls. It is sort of modern and I like comfy and that cottage look or farmhouse style.
Our youngest daughter in Western NY has an etsy shop and she makes art and beautiful shadow boxes. I have several pieces she made for me including my sign which hangs above my side of the bed. It says Life is hard, pray harder. Her shop name is Cherry Creek Creations.
4. What is a typical day/evening like in your home?
Since I had to take an early retirement, I stressed for a long while about it and not finding other comparable work. But I took the advice of my dear Bea who is 93 years young. She said enjoy your retirement! Sleep late, don't keep a schedule! Ha Ha - so I took her advice. I sleep in some mornings, others I am up with my husband at the crack of dawn. He is up at five a.m. and gets ready for his work day. He leaves the house by 6:15 and if I am up I start to empty the dishwasher, straighten up the living room and kitchen. I make our bed and flip on the TV. Leave it to Beaver or Perry Mason. Oldies, no interest in much modern day TV. I do watch MLB baseball if my Colorado Rockies are playing. I do laundry about three times a week as Nick and I wear so much clothing that has to be washed in cold water and hung to dry. Avery and I hit the sheets by 10 and often he sleeps even earlier. We do play Gin Rummy and watch some shows I have taped, like Perry Mason and we watch Jeopardy and Wheel of Fortune. Nothing else.
I do not always participate with Hodge Podge at from this side of the pond.com . The blogger system is not allowing me to input the info here but rather saying error error error but recently one question was name 10 of your favorite right now things:
My husband Avery
My kids and grands
some of them anyway :-)
My Minky blankets this one is the promo from their site Banana Sorbet Crepe
My LuLaRoe leggings and other clothing
My favorite teas
My favorite Brie cheese
My favorite rosemary crackers
MLB Baseball
Music
Hint Raspberry water
My fur babies
I had 11 like Myra! I guess we are troublemakers!
Thanks for stopping by. I am really trying to catch up with everyone. I seem to visit a blog and find myself still there for fiftene or twenty minutes. But it means a lot to me when folks stop by so I like to catch up with them. It is how I roll.
Have a wonderful evening, hoping your week is going well and any thoughts you may have, please do share them here.

Was this post about me:) I retired at 48 and still after 19 years enjoy doing my own THANG! I love my home, it isn't spotless but my hubby also helps with the chores. I love my family and spending time with them is tops on my list of things I love to do. Enjoy your day dear friend, HUGS!
What a sweet compliation of your Top 10! (I'd forgotten how good Brie tastes ... must add that to next week's grocery list.)
Sweet home! For some reason, I thought y'all lived in a two-story? Sure a blessing to have a well-running hot water heater and a/c. We need to start planning now for 2024 when our warranty expires. I think the days of longivity are long gone.
P.S. ---- Bahahahaha on that last meme. I'm up for it if you do the driving! 😀
Those were fun! Dang, we haven't heard the Nitty Gritty Dirt Band in forever!
I am glad you are enjoying your retirement. I love your answer to #1. XO
