Happy Birthday to Rebekah

A Pink Power Ranger birthday cake for Rebekah when she turned 7 years old. My goodness, twenty one years ago today! Hannah, Jeremy and Nick were tiny kiddos too. Time rushes away. But it can not steal my memories.
Noelle, Rebekah and Hannah - graduation day 2013. A college graduate! A very proud day for all of us.
All together at Jeremy's wedding April 30, 2016. Hannah, Noelle, Jeremy. Nick and Rebekah.
Rebekah will be starting a new job on July 5th. Her company she currently works for moved their headquarters for her job to Texas. The drive for the new job will be farther away but she will be here. She traveled to Ireland alone and just returned from a mini vacation with her beau Zach. They visited Glenwood Springs, the hot springs and Hanging Lake. They hiked and camped out and had a great time. They came home today so we could celebrate her birthday tonight with a barbeque and birthday cake.  She is a very unique young woman and beautiful daughter. Glad she is mine.
A Casa Bonita graduation celebration. Rebekah and Zach were all smiles.
Tinkerbell was Rebekah's furry friend.  She was a rescue and the reason I started blogging back in 2009. We lost her in May 2010 but she is still in our hearts. I hope you stop by Aw...Monday and although Sandee was out of town, you will leave a smile and comment for her too. Tink was our little hero. She was diagnosed with liver cancer in October 2009 and she was a little trouper to the very end of her life. We will always love her but miss her terribly.
Still honoring our late friend and hostess Sally for Blue Monday. Jeanne is a terrific hostess and I am guessing she might stop here and spot a blue or two or maybe even three in m birthday post today. Stop by for a visit and say hello.
Love is...very often a leap of faith. Be kind today and remember all those who lost their lives and were injured in Orlando in the shooting this weekend.
We have had some rain mixed with really warm temps. Leave it to Maxine to have an answer about her aches and pains and the rain!

M is for MUSIC and BEAUTIFUL PINK SATURDAY TIME

I love music, I always have and although I have zero talent musically I love all kinds of music and love passing it on to the kids and grand kids. Michael, our year old great grand loves church music! He will praise the Lord when he hears worship music. Harrison loves a song called
Me and Magdalena by the Monkees from their new 2016 album. Ben Gibbard of Death Cab for Cutie wrote this song. Now I have tried to turn Harrison's attention to other music. So far he loves this lone Monkee song and a couple John Mayer tunes. He's a real music critic! I thought today would be a perfect time to tell you M is for Music as I am working my way through the Alphabet and thinking of what I would want to write about.

My sister Mary had a friend named Dorothy Skerjanc that belonged to a polka club. She and her late hubby John would travel around and go polka dancing. I thought that was such a cool thing to do! BoJons loves to dance to polka music and many young BoJon lads had a squeeze box, formerly known as the accordion. My high school friend Charlene Caputo met her first hubby through their love of the accordion.

Pink scatters across a night sky as the sun sets. I take a lot of photos like this. They are my favorites, because I can praise God in all His goodness and beauty.
This is an image from google. I love how  Pikes Peak is mirrored in the Garden of the Gods. When I was a child our home had a beautiful view of Pikes Peak. Please visit Beverly and some Pinkies today.

L is for L O V E and My BoJon Heritage

My childhood home. A safe haven, a beautiful home built by my dad with his own two hands. I treasure the original photo of our home. I found it in an old album my mom gave me many years ago. I am so glad I take care of these treasures and carried it with me wherever I went. BoJon men were hard working, good, faithful and kind folk. Many of them worked at the C F and I Steel Corp. or worked on the railroad or in the meat packing plant. All of those jobs were physically demanding. My dad started working around the steel mill when he was a very young boy. He fibbed about his age to get that job. When he was finally 14 the boss told him he knew he fibbed but he was such a hard working kid he did not have the heart to let him go. My dad worked his way up to head roller in the rail mill. He spent 47 years working there, a rarity in today's world. I adored my father. He was the light of my life. I miss him as much as the day he left this world in 1985. He loved my mother with a love that was pure and holy and good. He always cared for her and also all the women in the phamily who were widowed young. He followed biblical principals to a science. He was the kindest man I ever knew in my life. When I was married I looked for many of those same qualities in my own husband and 32 years later I am grateful I did.
My cousin Juliane sent this photo to me. My mom and dad and one of the cousins, from 1967. I must ask Juliane if this was her or one of her siblings. Juliane's mom Millie was my dad's baby sister. She and her husband, Uncle Sam Cosimano had five children, Sammy, Mary , Tim, Bernice, Juliane. In September 2015 we lost Sammy. It was such a shock because I had just reconnected with him. As a result of reconnecting with him I was able to visit with Juliane and her daughter Jessica.  I am hoping to reconnect with the other kids too. Our BoJon heritage is strong and I am very determined to get together with my remaining cousins and their loved ones too.
Dad was a sharp man. He always looked so neat and polished. I miss him each day, I am grateful to have so many photos of him.
Mom and Dad looked so happy with my big sister Pat.  We were raised with much L O V E. So today I give you the letter L for Love.

During July 2015 I wrote a BoJon Heritage post each and every day. I may try it again. I have been busy watching little Harrison but he is going on his first phamily vacation with his parents.  They are heading to Wisconsin to visit her relatives. I am going to miss him but he is a handfull. He loves one hundred percent attention constantly. He is a very well loved baby boy.
A beautiful sleeping baby, love this photo and love this tiny boy.
Not a terrific photo but Harrison brought his tiny guitar today! As small as he is, boy, oh, boy, can he wail on that little thing!
Enjoy the weekend and stop by soon. I have a giveaway I am working on. It will include tea. Wink, Wink!

Happy Birthday to Colton/K is for Kids

Colton Edward Eveland was born June 7, 1996 at Rose Medical Center in Denver, Colorado. What an experience to be there and share in this joyous occasion, a new grandson! He and I bonded the day he was born and are still very close 20 years later.
A silly sideways 3rd grade picture of this kiddo. What a character he was and still is.
Colton was a little lad when he took this photo with my sister Pat. She was an amazing person, we all miss her so much.
Colton loves Par Kour but not quite as much as he loves:
His sweet little phamily. Jacey and Harrison are the loves of his life.
Happy birthday grandson. These past 20 years have been a joyful time. Kids are my life and I love each and everyone of them. The letter K is for kids.

Aw....Monday/Blue Monday/Love is.../Maxine Cracks Me Up/

This pinterest image is so beautiful. It is a KilKennyCatArt and I have to say, I love black cats. So many people think they are not good pets because they are bad luck. That is not true. They are wonderful pets. Here is my Boots in his younger days. I loved that Best Feline Friend :
He was not totally black but he was the love of my favorite feline friends.  He had a milk mustache and his paws and chest were marked with white. He was an amazing cat. Love you and miss you my friend, May 3, 1996 - March 16, 2012. Please visit Sandee and everyone at Aw...Monday today.
This silly kitty looks like Daphne, Zach's silly girl. She is a pretty calico.
I call her "Hey girl" and she always comes to see me but she is still so shy she won;t hang out with all of us. Maybe too many other pets cramp her style. I bet if you visit Jeanne and the folks at Blue Monday you will see that I shared some blues here today.

I won't plant trees, have too many already and two that gave us major financial headaches and plumbing woes! But I am fighting these wild rabbits eating my pretty flowers out of our garden. Argh....Love this sweet love is...
Everyone can relate to Maxine. Somedays she just says what you were thinking! Laughing Out Loud! Smile!
I was at Jury Duty today. The Judge was there, actually two judges spoke to the potential jurors.  I was very grateful and felt extremely blessed not to have been selected. There were some big criminal cases involving murder and vehicular homicide. There were other jurors chosen for civil cases. My name was not drawn and I was so happy. I sat by the sweetest little gal who was 23 years old. She was selected for one of the big criminal case. I felt so bad for her. I saw one lady who was selected walking back to her seat with tears in her eyes. She is probably a very emotional person like me so I was thinking she probably did not want to sit in on a murder trial!  I could not emotionally handle it. I don't even watch crime dramas, they are too violent for me. I am praying for all those jurors selected. One gentleman said murder didn't bother him, he was desensitized  to it! Wow! I wonder how many people feel like him? That is something I could never be. I think our world today seems too casual when they see and hear about such horrible crimes. I am just the opposite, I am a sensitive soul. The letter J was chosen for Judges and Jurors.
My momma always had her hair done beautifully. She always had a cute apron on and she worked so hard taking care of phamily . That is the BoJon way, always has been, always will be.
Uncle Louie was momma's older brother. These photos were taken at his 70th birthday bash. Oh the memories. We always had such fun phamily times.
Mom (second on your left) and the ladies from the KSKJ Lodge No. 7. The sign in front of the stage says "Welcome" in sLOVEnian. You should know my Auntie Ang (third lady on your right) made their costumes. She was a sewing queen and she could create just about any thing you wanted. She once found some gold lame fabric and black fringe in her sewing room and whipped up a Roaring Twenties costume for Noelle  during Halloween. Another time she made a costume for Noelle from scraps of red/white/blue fabric and voila, Noelle was Betsy Ross! I wish I could find those photos! The KSKJ lodge has been good to our phamily. A couple of our kids applied for scholarships and earned them including Nick who received monies during his first two years of college and a one time large chunk of change for his previous year he completed at KWU.  They really help their young members out, Nick has done lots of good volunteer service. Colleges like to offer those services and Nick is always happy to oblige. My BoJon Heritage, makes me smile!

"I" is for Icy Cold Drinks, Pink is for Pretty Pink Saturday

I love an icy cold drink! But now my friend Vivian, who lives in our hometown of Pueblo has made me think about ice! She said when she went through her ovarian and later breast cancer she was told by her doctors that she craved ice because she was anemic! That was interesting. Vivian and I have been friends since we were teens. Oh my goodness, she could tell you tales but we were young and very silly than. We shared a mutual friendship with Kathy O'Gane. I worked with Kathy's dad Buck at the County Courthouse when I was a young gal. Later I worked with Kathy too and then she up and joined the U S Navy. Her sister Marlene and their late brother Michael also were in the U S Navy. Kathy's health is not good these days and she and Marlene shared in the care of their mom Simi. She was put into a nursing home due to advanced Alzheimer's disease. It has hit the girls hard so please pray for them.
Since I was late to the birthday party for Pink Saturday, and actually missed it because I have been chasing rabbits and trying to help my hubby get our yard in shape, I will toast Beverly and all the participating Pinkies with a Barbie shot. Who wears pink better than Barbie?
Maybe those ladies would like to try a Pink Punk Cosmo. It is an awesome drink made with pink cotton candy! Just don't try to say Pink Punk Cosmo too many times too quickly ok?
My friend Heather likes a Hawaiian Lava Flow.  Perhaps the Pinkies will too.
Some folks like a simple and non alcoholic Strawberry Lemonade. This is like the one I bought from three little girls at the bottom of the trail at Chautauqua Thursday.Their mom even offered us fresh mint for our cool drinks after a 3 mile hike in the hot weather. Refreshing.
I had to share this simple prayer with everyone. I could use some prayers too. I have to go to jury duty on Monday and I would rather not! I am not a fan of our flawed judicial system where I really don't see the scales hanging in balance but rather rooting for the bad guy! After our traffic stop, for having Colorado plates, heading into Kansas last month to retrieve Nick from college and that trooper riling through our luggage ,I am really losing my patience with the whole legal system. Because I live in Colorado does not mean I am transporting marijuana or other illict drugs through another state! It was totally humiliating and very infuriating.
 Justice or not?
Pretty as a picture, an image of Slovenia, the homeland of my ancestors. If you think I am a bit cynical about our legal system and the government, you need to know I was thrown into the lion's den s a young woman, working in the county courthouse. Now I made some friends there and learned a lot from the older ladies I worked with, but the whole political system is a crock of baloney. I knew it than and I still see it that way today. You can not change a BoJon girls mind. We are stubborn that way.
Time to turn in for the night. As my sLOVEnian phamily would say, Goodnight.
