Welcome to Mrs. Matlock's Alphabe Thursday! Go here jennymatlock.blogspot.com so you can join in the fun!
Today I have some famous V's to share with you!
How about Frankie Valli from the vintage group Frank Vallie and the Four Seasons. They sang cool songs like "Cheri", "Walk Like A Man: and "Big Girls Don't Cry".
While we are on the letter "V" and famous people, places and things how about some vinyl for the vintage folks out there! I loved my vinyl album collection and was sad when the 8 track tape replaced all my cool albums! I wish I still had them. A full collection of Johnny Mathis, The Bee Gees and Dolly Parton! How's that for some variety in your life?
Like how about a Valley Girl? Like rad or what dude! Alicia Silverstone in the kooky, quirky and very funny movie "Clueless". Like wow!
Do you recall George Washington at Valley Forge from your school history dazes! It was the site of the camp of the American Continental Army over the winter of 1976-1777 in the American Revolutionary War.
Have you ever been to the Venetian Hotel in Las Vegas? I was fortunate enough to stay there during a Princess House convention several years ago . The hotel was brand new and we were given the most magnificent suites with marble tubs and walk in showers that were encased by glass doors. It was heaven on earth for a few days. Then home to my tiny little bathroom with bad grouting! Ha Ha!
Here is a double V for you! Vincent Van Gogh. The brilliant but troubled painter lived and died March 30 1853 to July 29, 1890. He is considered the greatest Dutch painter after Rembrandt, though he had little success during his lifetime. I own a lovely print of his artwork "Sunflower". They say he cut off his own ear because he probably suffered from tinnitus (ringing of the ear) and it drove him mad!

SCAMS
Someone I know as well as myself have been victimized here by a scam. All I can say is if people are dumb enough to fall for some ridiculous scam where some idiot claiming to be someone you know asks you for money and you give them money you deserve to be scammed! The bad thing is AOL, AIM , BLOG SPOT, FACE BOOK no one is avail to help you just a bunch of baloney questions where they want you to change your password but should call in the FBI because the stuff they ask you is ridiculous. Because I am friends with someone does not necessairly mean I know their life story with extremely intimate details like dates of birth of parents, siblings, picture identification of someone from their childhood fifty years ago! There is no customer service in this world anymore. Only idiot machines you talk to!
I hate Face Book and I am going to find a way to close the account down. So please if you follow me here don't talk Face Book or be offended when I dump all the e mail that comes from Face Book into spam! I changed my password as they asked me. Then four times they say someone was trying to hack my account. You need to change your password. You need to change your password. You need to change your password! It is utterly stupid and they have screwed up my whole evening. How can I change my password when I already changed the password and you tell me change it again and again and again!?
I ran a virus scan on the computer and did everything else that I should. I just had to vent and I am very sorry that you received an e mail from idiots who ought to be beaten with a stick my their own mothers! They e mailed me about myself, that is how ignorant they are!

FLAG DAY: LET'S THANK OUR MILITARY
Let us all join together today, amid all the turmoil in our country from political corruption, Chicago style politics and major oil spills and thank all of our military who serve us so well here and abroad. May Old Glory wave proudly, we are after all living in one of the free countries in the world! Display her, respect she, talk about her proudly! Pray for our Military, they need our prayers now more then ever.
Happy Flag Day!

Winner of the Second Teapot: The Hand Blown Is....
My hubby just drew the name of the teapot tonight on our daughter's 22nd birthday! It is....PARSLEY!
Woo Hoo! We had a lot of wonderful comments and we ran the giveaway a bit longer so we got 108 original comments plus extra entries for sending new followers. Both the person sending the new follower and the original follower received extra entries.
Parsley this must be your day honey! You deserve it. I wish I could give every single person that comes by a tea pot of your choice.
I love to think big and who knows. Lot's of dreams do come true.
I don't want to take away from the celebration for Parsley's win. She is over at Seasons of My Mind. She is a great lady and deserves a win! But the past two weeks have been awful for myself and my phamily. I just have to say knowing all of you has made my life better. There are so many wonderful caring people over here. You all make me smile! :)
I better get this published and get over to make sure I have an address to mail this teapot to! But I want to say everyone who left comments for the tea pots I will enter you in my next giveaway for the same two teapots but it will be a July celebration! You can continue to add comments and get more entries and you know anyone you recommend to come over that joins I will give both of you an extra entry!
Keep smiling, keeping praying and everyone congratulate Parsley!

Running for the Prize
Good morning and welcome to Spiritual Sundays. Please thank our gracious hostesses Charlotte and Ginger.
My youngest son Nick is a runner. He is very good at running. He also has what they like to label "ADHD. I always ask for prayers and encouragement for my son. He will be 17 this summer and he often has a hard time concentrating. Unless, of course, he is running. He has a passion for the sport and this week alone he logged 28 miles as his unofficial Cross Country Summer Training program began. The official program kicks off tomorrow.
This is a verse I often share with Nick. "Do you not know that those who run in a race all run, but one receives the prize? Run in such a way that you may obtain it. 1 Corinthians 9:24
Nick is a competitor. He likes to win, no, he LOVES to win! So in order to remind him that winning in this life really isn't everything I give him that verse. He was raised up to know that only One shed His innocent blood for us. While we seem to be declining in this world, people caught up with "religion" fever and all sorts of cures and causes for acquiring that ultimate gift of eternity with Christ in Heaven, we teach our children that Christ is the ultimate prize. There is no other way into heaven other then through Him who saved us.
So today I ask prayer for my son. In fact I ask prayer for the phamily during many struggles. I also keep my prayer list nearby and ask prayer today for Steve and Kat and family, Lisa, Diane, Sharon, Cindy and countless others who need our prayer. Please join me and lift up these souls in prayer. I appreciate your kindness here and your thoughtful ways and prayers make me smile.
