Happy Tuesday

I found a list of  Childhood Memories sent to me by my dear friend Miz Mollye (Meredith) back in 2013. She was a happy soul. A light in a dark place. She loved everyone and shared happiness everywhere. I sure miss her terribly. I think of her each day, she was like a real sister to me. One who never turned her back on me. So here is a few of those Childhood Memories list:

1. My parents taught me TO APPRECIATE A JOB WELL DONE.

"If you;re going to kill each other, do it outside, I just finished cleaning." (haha that one was directed at my two older brothers).

2.My parents taught me LOGIC.

"Because I said so, that's why."

3. My parents taught me MORE LOGIC.

"If you fall out of that swing and break your neck, you're not going to the store with me."

(I loved going to the store with my mom, my aunt and uncle owned a meat market (it is still in business today) and my uncle Munson would offer me a slice of fresh cut cheese slice or a cold beef hotdog.. Those were some wonderful times.)

4. My parents taught me IRONY.

" You keep crying like that and I;ll give you something to cry about.."

(My dad said that, but he never laid a hand on me. My mother, well, that is a different story. I often think of how ornery I was and what a hard time I gave her. She was a very good mother).

5. My parents taught me about CHOICE.

"Do you want me to stop this car?" (My dad had one car rule when we went on road trips, if anyone said "are we there yet?" he'd turn that car around and take us home).

I hope some of these made you happy and gave you a smile. There were many more but I chose a few to share here. I am happy I had the childhood I was given. Today's kids , so many, are very disrespectful to their parents. Too many choices, too many electronics, no self motivation to help out with chores. I think that is very sad.

Maxine hit the nail on the head on this one.....I will be happy to see some cooler temps soon. I pray anyway...

I hope you will pray for Afghanistan. So many Christians are being presecuted as well as the citizens of that country. The airport was closed and many are trapped. A friend shared something today that gave me chills. It was a piece written about the destruction of Afghanistan and the words were very clear, many Christians will be meeting Jesus face to face . To have such incredible faith to give your own life for another.

These are funny, mostly because our moms really DID say these things!

Those are things today kids are not hearing and it is part of why our world is the way it is. People need to learn to make choices, and the right choices, be rewarded for choosing correctly. These days everyone just does whatever they want without a care about anyone or anything. It is sad.

Oh yes, today's kids have no clue what our childhood was like. Life was slower back during my childhood, just having fun playing outside was how we spent our days. I love Maxine and that one is too funny:) Enjoy your day dear friend, I am certainly praying for all in Afghanistan and Haiti. HUGS and prayers coming your way!

Thank you for the smiles.

Persecution is coming, may we stand in the truth of Jesus and hold fast.

Aw, I miss Miz Mollye; she was always so kind. You're so sweet to let her shine again here on your blog.

Yes, prayers for Afghanistan. We're heartbroken.
At yesterday's Bible study we watched the movie, Indescribable. Have you seen it? As he was preparing to go join the war effort, the oldest brother said that very quote from John 15 to his younger sibling.

Looks like we had the same kinds of parents. I've heard all those before.

I love Maxine. She's my kind of gal.

Thank you for joining the Happy Tuesday Blog Hop.

Have a fabulous Happy Tuesday. Love and hugs, Anne. ♥

Our Dad says he had the same wisdom when he was growing up too!

Those were all great and many familiar from my childhood too. I used to love to go to the store with my Gramma. XO

Love those. They made me smile. Several were familiar from my childhood as well.
