Dr Seuss has a birthday today and everyone at Thankful Thursday is participating. Dr. Seuss still is on my book shelves. We have so many of his books. Some of his most popular are The Cat in the Hat, Green Eggs and Ham and The Lorax along with Oh The Places You'll Go and How the Grinch Stole Christmas.
Blake likes to make sure this green guy is watching us when we play! He came with a copy of the book "How the Grinch Stole Christmas" and great grand boy Benjamin was wanting everything Grinchy a few years ago. He received this guy plus the book plus pjs. - all Grinch approved.
"We are all a little weird and life's a little weird, and when we find someone whose weirdness is compatible with ours , we join up with them and fall in mutual weirdness and call it love." Dr. Seuss
Thankful for the weirdness I share with my husband Avery. We all have some weirdness so thankful I know all of you and we all get along.
Today my friend Linda's son-in-law Tyler celebrated his birthday with Dr. Seuss. Today is also the anniversary of the passing in 2016 of one of the kindest bloggers, Sally DeStefano. This woman shared her faith and although she had been terribly ill for quite some time, she never failed to hand each person she came into contact with on the blog or in person a huge kindness. I will forever miss this light in an often dark world. I know she is enjoying being pain free in her heavenly home. Today my friends Carole and her sister Jene celebrated a heavenly birthday linking all their precious memories with their aunt Annie. You see, we all came from a neighborhood with strong willed women. Many women were widows, they raised children and helped raise their grandchildren or nieces and nephews too. Annie was one of those people. She taught Jene how to drive. Her interior of her car was immaculate. The outside of it was battered and bruised as Annie was a terrible driver. She turned 111 in heaven today. Jene says about a year before her passing Annie had a deathly case of the flu. Jene begged her to stick around. She said Aunt Annie I want to see you dance at my wedding. Annie said, you expect me to stick around THAT LONG!? Annie never was one to mince her words. . Jene never married but she is a journalist by nature and her love of her Bojon heritage and all those strong willed women she grew up with are forever engraved on her heart. HAPPY HEAVENLY BIRTHDAY to Annie.
I hung out with these handsome guys today. Their great grandpa Bob fell while walking his dog, according to Brody, who always gets all the facts in his stories. They talked to me about him all day long and were so tickled when their mom Brittany said they would stop by their grammie's house to pay a visit. He still lives in his own home but his daughter brought him to her house from the ER yesterday. He took a hard tumble on the ground and boy did he get battered. Prayers for Great Grandpa Bob are appreciated. He had to have 9 stitches in his head. Ouch! I am praying for speedy healing and recovery.
I hope everyone is having a wonderful Thursday. I am going to try to be timely for Feline Friday. A shout out to Mimifor hosting this blog hop that was handed to her by Sandee . Thank you to everyone who hosts these fun blog hops. Have a terrific weekend.
