When our children were young they loved for us to buy Welchs sparkling juice to serve on New Years Eve! We served it up in Princess House hand blown champagne stems!
It is such a lovely memory and one we still treasure although everyone except the two youngest can legally drink some bubbly. We are not much into drinking and still enjoy the sparkling juice along with Martinelli's sparkling apple cider. So I wish you a Happy and Healthy New Year in 2011. I enjoy blogging so very much and enjoy knowing so many of you personally. I am always grateful to see new faces come over and join me and I treasure each one of you.
I hope you will stop by Beverly's and thank her for her on going support of Pink Saturday and working so tirelessly for each of us to keep this going. Wish her a Happy New Year too. Then visit some pinkies. I am making a commitment to myself in 2011 to visit more pinkies and I plan to honor our late sweet friend CJ who visited each and every participate during her Pink Saturday days.
Please visit Sherry and join her giggly fun blog with lots of love and family and wonderful recipes. Sherry is always up to fun so check her blog out today.
I hope the New Year is filled with many blessings for you and your family. Please join me in wishing Jenny and Charlotte and Ginger a Happy New Year! I am posting with Pink Saturday, Spiritual Sunday and Jenny Matlock. Blessings to all!

NOTHING FANCY
Hi everyone! I am offering you a special New Year Wish today!! Sitting at work waiting for the snow to arrive in feet I hear!
I feel like we live in Arizona as the ground has been brown all month long!
I am not an avid snow driver these days and my Sweets dropped me here early. Time to hit the time clock and get into the swing of our last day until the New Year.
May God richly bless each and everyone of you! I love all of you so much!
Stay happy and healthy in the coming here and watch for me here!
1. "How can I repay the Lord for all His goodness to me?" Psalm 116:12
2. "I can do everything through Him who gives me strength." Phillipians 4:13
3. "Therefore if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation, the old has gone, the new has come." 2 Corinthians 5:17
4. "May He give you the desires of your heart and may all your plans succeed." Psalm 20:4
5. "Because of the Lord's great love we are not comsumed, for His compassion never fails. They are new every morning; great is your faithfulness. I say to myself, The Lord is my portion, therefore I will wait for Him." Lamentations 3: 22-24
I will publish more favorite quotes for the New Year this weekend which is a long one for me.

MOOSE
It is hard not to think about Christmas so I want to talk for a moment about another favorite holiday animal! The Moose. Do you remember "Bullwinkle and Rocky"? Bullwinkle was the moose and Rocky his faithful squirrel friend. It was a wonderful childhood memory because it was a cartoon show I rarely missed.
But I like the live version of Bullwinkle too. This magnificent creature always reminds me of the faithfulness of God because this is such an unusual animal. The moose is the largest extant of the deer family. This magnificent creature is noted for the palmate antlers the male wears. Moose eat a diet of fruits and vegetables and they are very good swimmers and can wade into the water to retrieve plants for munching!
I just wanted to share this with you today for Tuesday's Show and Tail!I hope you enjoyed it and you will visit Angela and all the participates in this weekly fun meme!
Have a blessed and happy New Year!
I hope you enjoy the google images too.

MERRY CHRISTMAS TO ALL
I am going to link to Beverly for Pink Saturday and also to Ginger and Charlotte for Spiritual Sunday. I want to take a moment to wish you all a very Merry Christmas and a wonderful prosperous New Year in 2011.
This year was a tough year for us but it ended well with our wonderful new home. The holiday season has been tough because we are still sorting through boxes and trying to organize everything! But we enjoyed a nice evening with phamily and friends. We like to spend Christmas Eve enjoying a variety of snacks and laugh about the good times from Christmas past.
We like to laugh and have fun but we never forget the true meaning of Christmas and the season for this joyous season.
I am sharing a phamily photo here as well as a wonderful verse from the bible regarding the birth of Our Lord and Savior and a beautiful Nativity google image.
"And she brought forth her first born Son, and wrapped Him in swaddling clothes and laid Him in a manger, because there was no room at the inn." Luke: 2:7
Happy Christmas to all!

ALPHABE THURSDAY
I missed last week. So I am combining my "L" post with my "M" post. Come visit Jenny. She works hard to pull off these weekly meme's and she does a lovely and marvelous job!
So today I say "L" is for LaLaLa or Falala, you deck the halls and all that great holiday stuff! L is for the love in your heart this Christmas season. The loveliness of the holidays with all the wonderful twinkling lights and fun falala's! Lighting the Christmas candles and listening to lovely music. Loading your car with gifts to give and food to bake and enjoy! Finding someone lonely to share the season with. Learning the true spirit of Christmas is not the "gimmees" but the giving. It is sharing a moment with a lonely soul who has no where to go. It is longing for the child within all of us to come out to play. L is for life, and for making the very best of it the very best way we know how.
I love the M and M commercial where the lady is sitting on the sofa and tells her hubby to get the snacks. He opens the cupboard and the M and M guys start throwing snacks at him! He says "Get in the bowl" and they snap back, "You get in the bowl!" It makes me smile each time I see it. I had to share it with you.
"M" is for miracles. I am certain a pre Christmas miracle occurred when we found our home. I think the good Lord singlehandedly made it happen. I think this season is so beautiful and full of Christmas miracles. It is always warm and wonderful when miracles occur. Recently a local t.v. station aired a story about the Boys and Girls Club and their sad holiday due to donations being down. People listened and they filled their warehouse with hundreds of new toys for kiddos all over the city.Giving hope and happiness and some marvelous memories for kids who otherwise would get nothing. The spirit of Christmas is alive and well. We need to see past all the politically correct junk and get down to the basics and the truth about Christmas. It is the season to celebrate the birth of Our Lord and Savior. It is a season full of miracles happening somewhere at sometime and often the news media inundates us with threats of terror reports and we see all the corruption in our government. Anything to take our minds off the truth. Don't lose the true spirit of Christmas. You can make miracles happen each day. Kindness does exist in our world, we need to look right in front of us sometimes to see the beauty of miracles and the wonder of love and happiness.
Enjoy the internet images I am showing you here.

PENGUINS
Hi everyone! I have missed several Tuesday Show and Tails and want to mention Sandie. Make sure you send her some warm wishes for a speedy recovery with her surgery, which my sweet friend Linda says went very well! Sandie is such a sweetheart and consistently participates in this fun meme. Next thank Angela for hosting this fun Tuesday time! Check out her cute pooch romping in the snowy fields of West Virginia!
I just wanted to post a chilly willy penguin from my childhood. He was an awesome little friendly guy who went ice fishing and generally enjoyed life in the icy tundra where he lived. He is such a cute reminder of CHRISTmas time fun. Come say hello.

THIS AND THAT!
Life happens! I am not intentionally staying away but so much has been happening in my life. It is hard to pin point! If anyone has any news on Denise at http://shortybearsplace.blogspot.com/ please catch me up. I am praying for her but have had all my e mails returned stating there is a fatal error on the account for her e mail! I want to tell Barb that I am going to put up pictures from my cool swap where she was my partner at Parsley's. My life has just been crazy.
My brother-in-law had no where to go after he was tossed out by his soon-to-be ex wife. I do not want to get bitter here so I will continue to ask for prayers. But God truly does work in mysterious ways! Shortly after he came to 'temporarily' stay with us he started to experience horrible back pain. He had some surgery, major back surgery, a few years ago but evidently the doctor did not do a great job! He ended up at the emergency room and was admitted to one hospital only to be transferred to another for more surgery. The doctor who did his second surgery works in the building next door to my office and he is a wonderful man.The doctor knew my hubby could not be with his brother during the lengthy surgery so the doctor called my Sweets and explained everything to him on the phone! He is recuperating nicely and we will bring him here tomorrow. He will spend Christmas with us and than head to Bozeman to spend a nice New Year with his younger brother John. From there he will travel to Alaska and try to continue his work as a traveling nurse. Prayer is very much welcomed.
On Monday I had to leave work early due to a horrendous migraine! I was unable to function and came home simply by the absolute hand of God! Thank goodness my son Nick was with me. Although he currently does not drive just having him with me was a great comfort.
Monday was a duel birthday for our daughter Noelle and her hubby Roger. Sweets and I took them to the Red Lobster on Tuesday. The food was fabulous. I scarfed down an entire sirloin steak with garlic grilled shrimp and some snow crab legs! I was waiting all day long to eat that meal! Noelle and Roger enjoyed their birthday dinner and their gifts as well.
Yesterday I sent my sweet niece Holly a birthday email having forgotten to put the card in the mail! She is mom to Sean and Sarah. I will blog about them soon! She sent me an e mail back which I just read this evening telling me she found a small cyst on her breast and is having a biopsy two days after Christmas. Prayer is again in order.
Phil lost his job at Sonic and part of the reason is new management. Shortly after his dismissal Rebekah had a drawer shortage. I think like so many companies they would like to rid themselves of their long time employees. I am not going to be spending any of my money there because I am very angry and am sick to the point of screaming with people and their political correctness. I can not say much more but I am tired of everyone bending over backward for people who break the law and the tax payers pick up the tab! I will say there is only one response I have to p.c. people! Jesus was the most politically incorrect person to walk this earth and I owe nothing to anyone but Him. He offered His own life for my sinful one. My father use to say he was glad he would not be around when I would be old like he was! He said the world would be backward. Good would be evil and evil good! Reference your bible, it is the written word of God. Prayer is needed for Phil so he may find a new job quickly.
I want to thank Marydon and Harold for the beautiful Old World musical Santa. It made it all the way here to Colorado from Maryland! I will post a picture later too.
I need to help my Sweets set up our buffet and slim pantry in the kitchen. Today my friend Alyn came to my office and showed off some new Princess House merchandise. She had lots of great red items! She said red is the new trend in kitchen decorating. I think that is so silly! I did my new kitchen in red because we have cherry cabinets and my old blue checked curtains needs a facelift! I found them in red at my favorite K-Mart! The price was perfect so they are hanging in my kitchen now! I have a pic to post taken with my new purple camera. I also have a photo of Alyn's table display including a beautiful apple pie she put together! We could not bake it, no oven (sigh) but she was going to enjoy it with her sister tonight for Alyn's 60th birthday!
I am still trying to put up our new tree (allergic to the real stuff0 and have dozens of Christmas cards to write. I found a lovely SLOVEnian recipe for cut out cookies. There is an odd ingredient in this recipe, black pepper, but I will have to give you a review later! I started thinking about all the wonderful childhood memories of the holidays that I had. I am looking for a few Italian cookie recipes. One is a long finger style cookie that is soft and buttery inside and is frosted with pretty pastels. There is a cherry filled drop cookie frosted with pretty pink frosting and a buttery drop cookie that is decorated with chocolate frosting! If anyone has any ideas to help me locate any of these old world recipes I would be so happy!
I will be back with LOVE IS...., Tuesday Show and Tail and AlphabeThursday. I will also post my Pink Saturday and Spiritual Sunday post this weekend. I have missed everyone very much!
Before I sign off, thank you to Gwen for sharing some pretty purple fabric and darling buttons to share with Miss AngelDawn. Anyone with any ideas what we can put together for this lovely little lady should e mail or leave me a message here.
Blessings to all!

The Night They Saved Christmas
Beverly asked us to tell everyone our favorite movie(s) for Christmas. I have so many it is hard to choose one but this oldie is a true favorite. Jaclyn Smith, Art Carney, Paul Le Mat and Paul Williams were the stars of this sweet movie about a family who's dad works for a large oil company who are exploring two sites in the Arctic region for drilling,. The first site is shaken by an explosion at the North Pole and Santa realizes the second site blast will destroy his home so he has to seek the aid of a woman and her two children to convince her husband to have his company stop the blasting. It is a sweet movie and will celebrate its 26th year of release on December 13th.
I hope you will thank Beverly for her continuing support of all of us here at Pink Saturday and for being a terrific hostess each week. She makes it fun to find new ways to display our pinks and always adds some fun to our weekly visits.
Visit Jacqueline at http://purplechocolathome.blogspot.com/ and see her blog and all its lovliness. I have been behind visiting and plan to catch up. Enjoy! Please enjoy a touch of pink to complete my Pink Saturday post! These orns would look lovely on anyone's tree!

CELEBRATING WITH MEMORIES
I am posting my Love Is...today It is special because I just had a birthday (December 3rd) and I love to eat cake with my "Sweets". I thought this little comic by Kim Casali is sweet as can be!
Please come join us .Marydon and Sherry
I started to write this post and than I had another idea! I was searching the web for recipes, Baked Alaska or Alaska Bombe. I guess I had been thinking of my brother-in-law, who is staying with us temporarily and heading to the most remote corner of Alaska near the Russian border. It made me start thinking of my mom and the wonderful dessert she use to concoct, Baked Alaska! I remember she used neopolitan ice cream and made the most fabulous dessert. As a kid it was the most amazing thing ever. For a grown up version you can make Alaska Bombe and pour some heated brandy over it all and light it like a firey celebration. Go to Allrecipes for some tasty recipes. With the Christmas season quickly approaching I wanted to share this special memory with you. I am showing you another internet image so you can see this lovely dessert. Maybe you will concoct one for the Christmas dinner dessert.

COME REFRESH YOURSELF
Good Sunday to you Please stop Charlotte and Ginger here to thank them for their wonderful hosting of Spiritual Sunday. Today I found this sweet internet image and had planned to write a post about Jesus being the refreshing drink we all need . I think John 4:14 says it all and says it best. In life we get busy and run about We need a long cool drink to refresh us Remember that although there are many temptations in this world and many choices to make, make the right one when it comes to your salvation. Choose Jesus He is a refreshing soul quenching drink that will refresh you today, tomorrow and always. Happy Spiritual Sunday to you.

A PERFECTLY PINK DAY!
Welcome to Pink Saturday! You should click over to Beverly's place and thank her for her never ending efforts to keep all of us on track for hosting this Pink paradise!
I celebrated a birthday today! Grateful to have my phamily here with me and be able to rise each day and get to work! This has been a pink day for me.
Started out at work with the girls. Monica giving me a beautiful bottle of her favorite wine. She cooked vermicelli for us and Theresa and Koko delighting me with my favorite "Club" sandwich at lunch from Jimmy John's. They gave me a gift bag of goodies including Christmas peeps, an angel ornament hanging on a bell and a cinnamon scented candle. Christmas socks with a pink sparkle and a spun glass cross. Koko surprised me with a "pink" carnation cupcake bouquet. I am hopeful my new camera will be here soon so I may shoot a few photos. I wore my new pink shirt, my Sweets chose for me and shopped at the A.R.C. and found three of my favorite brands on some sweet deal shirts, an L.L. Bean plaid shirt in soft pastel colors. A Christopher Banks burgundy shirt and a pink and brown Talbot's tailored shirt. Running office errands, ran into voices calling out to me at the dollar store, "Mom", "Grandmother". It was my daughter Noelle and my grandson Colton. They drove one hour to get my birthday gift to me. A beautiful Holiday 2010 Barbie in all her red and white high fashion! My son-in-law Roger was sad that the surprise didn't go quite according to plan. It was fun to visit with them and get birthday wishes galore! Later the girls served me cheesecake and I had to celebrate dinner with my "Sweets" at the Red Lobster. Stuffed with crab legs and grilled garlic shrimp it was a terrific birthday. I came home to find a Red Lobster gift, a box of Russell Stover truffles and a beautiful greeting from my brother-in-law who is housed here temporarily while he waits to travel to Alaska to work as a nurse. Tomorrow I will visit with girlfriends at leisure with breakfast at Mimi's Cafe then come home to hopefully find my new washer in place!
My favorite recipe is this easy vermicelli that Monica shared with me.
1 package vermiceli, broken in small pieces
butter for melting
garlic chopped finely
1 large can of whole tomatoes, crushed by hand (or fresh)
Dash of cumin for added flavor
Melt the butter in a large skillet and add garlic. Cook until soft. Add vermicelli with tomatoes and seasoning adding salt and pepper if needed. Simmer until tender and enjoy.
Aside from all the boxes yet to unpack my life today was perfectly pink. Please enjoy some internet images until I can shoot my own shots.
Go visit some pinkies and spread some pink cheer today and always!

PotLuck for Tuesday Show and Tail!
Since my camera is on the fritz and I am waiting for my new camera to arrive I thought I would repost a few favorite photos of the household pets here!
Smokey sitting in his favorite chair. This dog is so dog gone content in this new house it is just amazing. He lies on the bed or sofa and looks so peaceful when he falls asleep. He is so smart pooch!
Boots is enjoying the new place too. He thinks the bed is his and he curls up as if he is the only cat in the world! He loves that I put a soft, fleece blanket down that is black, just like him! He is one happy kitty.
Bandit is a silly little dog. He looks so ferocious in his Domino's cap! He is chilling at the new house. Just watching his brother and sister and wondering what we will be up to next! He is learning to relax and enjoying the new place.
I am dog tired from a busy work day so I could not pull up photos of Stella and Rose but love them just the same. Please forgive me but once I get the new camera I can catch up on all the blog fun that I am behind on! In the meantime please visit Angela and join her Tuesday fun!

As For Me And My House....
"As for me and my house, we will serve the Lord." Joshua 24:15
This verse has long hung on our bedroom wall. I always liked it and I knew the wonderful meaning behind it but I never fully realized it until we moved last week into this pretty little house we now call home. God is so very good. He chose this Thanksgiving week to show His true self to my phamily. I am spending more time reflecting on my faith and what it means to me. I try so hard not to waver or get discouraged.
Please remember to keep the faith and stop by Charlotte and Ginger to thank them for hosting our weekly Spiritual Sunday. It is so refreshing for me to visit many and I have failed these past few weeks. I am trying to restore some sanity at my house so I will make an effort to visit more. I love all of you very much and wish you much faith and many blessings.
This is a photo of the front of our new home. I lay in bed at night and wait for someone to tell me to leave! I still can not believe it is our home!

Some Funky Vintage Photos for You!
We were in Durango for the football game last month when Markus snapped these photos in the alleyway near our motel. I thought these quaint vintage tubs were quirky and unique. I had to share the pink one with all of you today.
Enjoy your weekend and have a beautiful Pink Saturday! Remember to stop by Beverly's and thank her for her constant weekly organization of Pink Saturdays. She is one remarkable lady. Please visit other pinkies too. I need to get better at this. I made a promise to me after losing my sweet bloggy friend CC this September because she always visited each and every one of the pinkies. When life calms down from the move I plan to visit lots of fun folks.
Happy weekend to all!

Things I am Grateful for Today
I am grateful that I know this sweet girl AngelDawn. I know her through many wonderful bloggers and she is holding a purple shirt I sent her. The shirt I thought went to my swap buddy Dee in Maryland. Ah...another story for another post.
Today I caught up on some of my internet stuff, my aim and g mail accounts and my blog to name a few. My washer went on the fritz and the kids rallied round us and we ordered a brand spanking new one to be delivered December 4th, a day after my birthday! Whew! A sweet gift huh? For a birthday gal like me, yes.
I received a sweet post message from Linda. It was about her sweet deal for a quilting kit. Sitting here counting all the marvelous blessings the Lord has given me and my phamily lately with the new house and all I decided I think we should put a quilt together for AngelDawn. She loves purple and I thought a purple theme would be appropriate for this little lady struggling with brain cancer. I hope you will all join me. I am quiltlessly clueless when it comes to any sewing matters so help me out everyone.
Please visit Nezzy who started this AngelDawn campaign because this littele lady was her Sunday school student.
Lots of great folks have been involved in the AngelDawn story. Stop by Sherry's and Marydon and find out that they know this sweet little girl too.
We have lots to be grateful for and I am always grateful that I have faith and pray daily for all my bloggy friends. Keep the faith folks and although the day is winding down please celebrate Thanklsgiving by being thankful for many blessings I bet you have in your life.

Love Is...One Day At A Time
Hi everyone! It is a long slow process getting moved and making a house look like a home. whew! I am tired but so grateful. I am way behind on some posts but had to share with you. If I did this one already I apologize. I feel like this right now. Take it one day at a time. I have my 'Sweets' at my side adn together we accomplish a lot! Thanks to all who left such sweet messages. I do love all of you and will get back into the swing of things and do the rest of my giveaways very soon.
When we started the loan process with our house and closed it was nine days from start to finish. The title company said they never closed a loan so quickly. Dave, our finance guy, said it is because his team works hard together. There are many stories to tell and I am planning to share many with you through the posts to come. God is good. He is so very good.
Please stop by Marydon's and Sherry's and share your thoughts with them too. I love these sweet friends and enjoy spending Monday's reading these sweet posts. Come join us. Please.

LUKE 16:10
"He who is faithful in a very little thing is faithful also in much; and he who is unrighteous in a very little thing is unrighteous also in much.
Good morning and welcome to Spiritual Sunday. Make sure to thank Charlotte and Ginger here
Please thank Viridian for sharing this beautiful image with me. I was thinking of this verse from Luke and she had it posted on her postcard blog. Go visit here please. I have many blessings this Thanksgiving with the new house and my phamily here with me so I do not need a thing. Except constant prayer. I find that when I stop praying for my own phamily things go wrong. So please always pray for each other and enjoy this blessed Sunday and enjoy your Thanksgiving Day with many blessings God shares with all of us. Pray this move continues to go well. There are a few grumpy phamily members getting tired and needing refreshment. Pray it goes well and be thoughtful and think of what this verse means to you personally. Love to all this glorious Sunday.
