SONDAY

I love SONday, we always have a good time eating breakfast together and we usually have lots of fun. The hubby made us biscuits and gravy today. I talked about the Buff in Boulder, Colorado. They have a great menu and that Dirty Hippie, is a cold Chai/Espresso drink made with your choice of  Moo - breve, oat, coconut, soy. But besides my hubby, they make a really excellent Biscuits & Gravy with Turkey Sausage. They also have a Rustic Benedict. I could eat breakfast food for breakfast, lunch or dinner.  One of these days, I am hoping we can visit them and have a sit down breakfast again.

We had a nice snow throughout the night. It did not accumulate much but the day warmed up nicely and we enjoyed it. My sweet hubby put our new desks together. NIck will have a new improved work station and I have a writing desk with a huge drawer. Rebekah and Zach helped us take down the tree in the living room and I took down the tree in our office area. I was sad. The memories in each ornament, the beautiful glow of the lights early in the morning and late at night. I miss it already. I usually spend my winters waiting for Spring. While some folks have a seed catalog planning their garden, I would wait for baseball. After the crummy season this year and all the politics to go along with it, I am sad I am losing my love of the sport. It is all about the almighty dollar, the political garbage they can shove at us and the fact that our hometown team is owned by a bunch of buffoons. Selling off all the best players so they can pick up the bargain basement has beens, It is so sad for me. It was bad enough the NFL went over the top with politics and still are promoting the agenda best suited for anybody but their fans. But our son has always been a stats guy. Since he was in the second grade and had a teacher who encouraged him to write and read about his most favorite thing, sports. He loves all sports, he ran cross country and track and field since the 7th grade all the way through five years of college. He belongs to these on line gambling sites. He is not a chronic gambler but he has fun. He asked us to join him and he helped me win $100 today laughing out loud. The last gambling I did, was in my 20's visiting the local dog track with my sister and placing those $2 bets on each race. We would carry three coin purses. One for winnings we split for each one of us and one for breakfast after the track closed. We often went on a Friday night and always had lotsof fun. Those days are long gone but I do not have luck playing Gin Rummy with husband. He beats me 90 percent of the time. Ha Ha Ha. So winning that cash and being able to cash it out so I can get my money was a thrill.

Here is a birthday cake I had years ago before I coud think of other great stuff I would like on my cake. The gals at my favorite bakery go out of their way to make your cake special. They've done so many for us. Our daughter uses a more upscale place for really unique cakes. They also do a nice job but they charge more for those cakes. But Vicki does such a beautiful job and she went through a change with their employer. THey switched from ALbertson's to Safeway.

This is my fancy 60th birthday cake a few years ago. HaHaHa! It was wonderful. When Rebekah graduated from college they made her an open book cake as she was an English Literature major.

Mister Kitty was preturbed yesterday morning that we had to get up and move. It was snowy and cold and he was enjoying the warmth of the bed, wrapped in blankets and sheets and such. He knows that pillow is the truth in this household! HaHaHa! Please visit Aw...Mondays.

Love is... Avery and I worked hard with Zach and Rebekah today. We are settling in for a good night's rest and hoping it will be filled with sweet dreams. We are like an old happy couple tonight but earlier today we thoguht we were youthful overowrking ourselves. Sweet dreams to you too!

I've never been much of a sports person and seeing all the news about different teams and players makes me even less interested. They should stick to the game and leave the agendas off the playing field.
Love both those cakes.

I gave up sports altogether when they started doing the political stuff. Done with all of it.

Awww on Mister Kitty. They don't like to be disturbed at all. He's handsome.

Oh Anne, you're killing me with talk of biscuits and gravy! How on earth do you stay so trim? Breakfast's become my favorite meal of the day ... as long as I don't have to eat it before 10:00. LOL!
My high-school beau and I still e-mail occasionally. Because Gordon lives in Boulder, I'm going to ask if Buff's not someplace he's been.

We used to love breakfast for dinner, maybe i need to do that again soon.

High school and college sports are often still good, depends on the sport. Football i cannot watch any more, too many young people injured.

Love the kitty, and the whole post!
