WHAT IS IT ALL ABOUT ?

"I could wish that I myself were accursed from Christ for my brethren, my countrymen according to the flesh." Romans 9:3

This verse really brings to mind the wicked ways of our world. All the self-centeredness. All the "Me", "Myself", "I" syndrome that so many suffer from. There are t shirts and signs and slogans everywhere pronouncing me number one.

Let us not lose sight of the One who suffered unimaginably pain and suffering so that we might live. I personally have often felt that I would give up my salvation if only I could help the folks I know that are clueless to Christ and His Grace and Salvation. Recently a woman I had known and had been good friends with passed away. She was a non believer and I could not bring myself to attend the service for her. But another blogger told me that I should not doubt the Word of God and perhaps at that very last moment of her life she hung on to the Cross and the One who suffered there.

I have never been nor will I ever be a "bible thumper" smacking the bible into folks but I will always stand up for the faith I have chosen. I think in today's world it is so easy to be mislead even in church with all this God Loves You stuff. Be careful following such an agenda. He does love each one but unless you are following His word to the very letter you can not be saved. I just want to pass that reminder on.

Go in peace today and continue to follow the One who died for you and for me.

Have a wonderful http://bloggerspirit.blogspot.com/. I hope you will stop by and personally thank the lovely ladies Charlotte and Ginger  for hosting this weekly meme.

This sentence stood out for me..."I have never been nor will I ever be a "bible thumper" smacking the bible into folks but I will always stand up for the faith I have chosen." Me too.

I came, and was blessed, by the Spiritual Sunday devotional and enjoyed the Rooster Blog Party post as well - Two treats for Sunday :)

One thought that I encourage myself with - no guarantee I'm right, I'm just praying I might be.
Phil. 1:6 tells us that, "being confident of this, that He who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus."
My thought and prayer is that by leading US to pray for someone, that THAT is GOD starting a good work in their life and HE WILL complete it! Again, no guarantees I am right, but I'm sure praying for it. :) :) :) And praying with you for your beloved and a few of my beloveds who I won't know about til I get to heaven! Have a blessed week.

HI Anne,

I really enjoyed reading your post today...I was curious about that first painting. Was it painted by Akiane? Oh, look her up on the internet. She's this amazing teenager with unreal painting abilities...if you read her website, she talks about that and her and her family's journey to coming to faith in Jesus Christ. I have a coffee table book of some of her artwork. It's phenomenal!! Have a lovely week. Love and hugs from Oregon, Heather :)

Wow... if that doesn't make a person think I don't know what will. So neat because today in our sermon the pastor said "in today's world it is all about me...t-shirts out there that even say IT IS ALL ABOUT ME"...how very sad. If people only knew the love of Jesus they would understand that it is all about HIM!! Thanks for this post!!
Blessings~

Yes it's sad but true that so many don't believe or don't know what they believe. They think they have all the time in the world but time is fleeting. I'm going to visit that link now. Loved the image. XXXMollye

I set my sights of being close to perfect for my Lord every single day, sweetpea, but I fall short every single day. I'm counting a lot of mercy and forgiveness! I learned a lot about that in church today and I start off well each sunday, but by saturday night I'm right back needing the sacrament again. Sigh......

It is sad the way our culture encourages people to think first and foremost about ole #1. We need to remember that God is God and we are not.
